Uzbekistan Gourmet Tour with Cooking Master Classes

  • Day 01              Arrival in Tashkent

    PM. Arrive in Tashkent. Meet at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 02              Tashkent-Urgench (by plane) – Khiva (35 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the domestic airport for morning flight to Urgench. Arrive in Urgench. Drive to Khiva (35 km). Full day excursion program in Khiva – “Ichan-Kala architectural ensemble” – “Museum under the open sky”: Mausoleum of Pahlavan Makhmud, Tosh-Hovli Palace (Harem), Kunya-Ark Fortress, Kalta-Minor Minaret. Participating in Khorezmian bread baking and “tukhumbarak” (typical Khorezmian ravioli stuffed with raw eggs) process and try them for lunch at local family cafe. Continuation of excursion program: Medrese of Shergazi-Khan, Complex of Alla-Kuli Khan, Juma Mosque and Minaret, Karavan-Saray, Minaret and Mosque of Khodja-Islam, Tim of Alakulikhan, Medrese of Abdulla-Khan, Mausoleum of Said Alautdin, Medrese of Mukhamad Amin-Khan, Walls of Ichan-Kala, Palvan-Darvaza Gate. Before dinner, participation in preparing process of famous Khorezmian dish – “Shivit Oshi” (green noodle) and to try them for dinner at local family café. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 03              Khiva – Bukhara (460 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Bukhara through Kizil-Kum Desert (460 km – 7-8 hours driving). En route stop for lunch (fish menu) and stop near Amudarya river for photo shooting. Upon arrival in Bukhara transfer to hotel for accommodation. After arrival, check-in at hotel. Participating in cooking process of very popular Bukharian Plov – “Sofi osh” cooked in a copper pot and try it for dinner in family house. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 04              Bukhara

    Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion program in Bukhara: Samanids’ Mausoleum, Chashmai Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo-Khovuz mosque, Ark Fortress. Trying spice-tea in Silk Road Tea House. Lunch menu: Bukharian lamb (barracha). Poi-Kalyon complex (Kalyan mosque and minaret, Miri Arab madrassa), Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan madrassas, Magoki Attori mosque, Trade Domes (Toki-Zargaron, Toki-Telpakifurushon and Toki-Sarrofon), Labi Khovuz complex. Dinner in a local café/restaurant with “Navruz kebab”, one of the popular dishes of Bukhara, try them for dinner. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 05              Bukhara – Shakhrisabz – Samarkand (380 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Samarkand via Shahrisabz. Arrive in Shahrisabz (280 km – 4 hours driving) & visit: Ak Saray Palace, Kok Gumbaz, Dorut-Tilovat Complex, Dorus-Saodat Complex. Lunch menu: tandoori meat – typical dish of Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions. PM drive to Samarkand (100 km, 1.5 hours driving). Upon arrival in Samarkand transfer to hotel. Wine degustation in historical Khovrenko Wine Factory. Dinner menu: “hunters’ chicken” in local restaurant / café. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 06              Samarkand

    Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion program in Samarkand: visit Afrosiyob Museum & hill, Observatory of Ulugbek, Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, Bibi-Khanum Mosque – the largest mosque in Central Asia, oriental bazaar Siyab and try dried fruits. Lunch at shashlik centre. Registan Square (Sherdor Madrassah, Tilla Kari Madrassah and Ulugbek Madrassah) & Guri-Emir mausoleum. Participation in preparing process of “manti” (dumpling) and samsa (samosa) with meat and try them for dinner in a local family house. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 07              Samarkand – Tashkent (300 km)

    After Breakfast in the hotel drive to Tashkent (300 km). En route light snack in Jizzakh with famous Jizzakh samsa (samosa). Upon arrival in Tashkent, drive to Chorsu Food bazaar to degustate several dishes according to the guests’ wishes. excursion program: visit Hasti Imam Complex (Barakhan Medresha, Tillya Sheikh Mosque and Muyi Muborak Library with famous Holy Osman Koran), Earthquake monument, Independence Square, Amir Temur Square, Metro-some Subway stations which are famous for their unique architectural designs and cleanness. Dinner at local restaurant with popular dishes such as Mastava (soup with rice) and Narin (made of finely chopped lamb meat (or horse meat) with onion sauce). Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 08              Departure from Tashkent

    Morning transfer to the International Airport and see off. End of the tour.
