Day 01 Samarkand/Bukhara – Uhum village
Morning pick up from Samarkand/Bukhara, drive to Uhum village (215 km from Samarkand & 295 km from Bukhara). After arrival in Uhum village, accommodation in a local family house and introduction with facilities. This family house has a large orchard with fruit trees where tourists can spend some of their time at leisure on tapchan sofas (traditional outdoor seating). Lunch in the local guest house. After lunch a short excursion around the village for watching village’s daily life and some local sights such as ruins of an ancient fortress and community water mill. After getting back to family guesthouse, you can watch a masterclass of cooking very popular Uzbek dish – Plov (or another national meal) or even you can participate in it. Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse.

Day 02 Uhum – Hayat village – Uhum
Breakfast in the guesthouse. After breakfast, a first half day guided hiking to the petroglyph site (4,3 km / 2 hours one way). While hiking in the Uhumsay valley you can see many summer huts of the local people and busy locals doing their daily livelihood activities such as butter making, bread backing in tandir oven, fruit harvesting, and firewood collection. En the way stop to visit the mausoleum of Hazrati Boboy Eshon. After getting to the petroglyph site you can shoot some photos, enjoy watching a beautiful nature scene. Return to the guest house. Lunch in the guest house. After lunch, a second half day guided hiking tour to the neighbouring Hayat village to see the wild endangered Severtzo’s sheep in a breeding enclosure (3 km / 1,2 hours one way). It starts from the homestay towards the west on the path that reaches Karaul mount where you will have picturesque views of the lake Aydarkul and Kyzilkum steppe. Continue to Hayat village to watch the breeding enclosure. Walk around to explore the area and shooting some pictures of this unique sheep. Nuratau Mountains inhabit almost 95% of world’s population of Severtzo’s wild sheep and this was the reason why large part of the area was declared as Nature Reserve. Return to the guest house in Uhum village. Dinner and overnight in the guest house.

Day 03 Uhum village – Bukhara/Samarkand
Breakfast in the guesthouse. Drive back to Bukhara/Samarkand (295 km to Bukhara / 215 km to Samarkand) & drop off to hotel/train station/airport. End of the tour.

Best season to travel:
You can travel and enjoy this program all year around however one can feel a little bit uncomfortable to travel in the hottest period of summer (in July) and in winter when the weather is cold. But during these off-season periods, travellers can get special discounted rates for packages by request.
Level of difficulties and age limitation:
This is an easy level tour and there is no age limitation as far as a person has no walking distance problem. Because in some cities such as Khiva and Bukhara, transportation is limited and normally tourists walk around approximately from 3 to 5 km during an excursion.
