  • Day 01            Nukus – Ustyurt Plateau – Barsa kelmes – Sudochie Lake – Aral Sea

    Pick up and departure from Nukus at about 8 o’clock in the morning to discover the Ustyurt Plateau and Aral Sea life. On route visit Khojeli and Kungrad districts, which were trading centers during the Silk Road period. On the way to Barsakelmes, pass by the Soda Plant and Uzbekistan-Korea Gas Chemical Plant. Arrive at Barsakelmes, the huge Natural Salt pit, where the Soda Plant takes its main resource. Then, drive to the Sudochie lake. Upon arrival at the lake, stop at the ancient Light House hill. Later, visit the abandoned settlement of the Russian and Polish people who were repressed during the Stalin regime. You can see the ruins of the hospital, cane houses and old Fish Factory. As well you can talk with fishermen, who currently do the fishing and observe the different kinds of birds. Drive to Aral Sea yurt camp. Arrive at the yurt camp, dinner and overnight.

  • Day 02            Yurt camp – Kurgancha Kala – Keinchiyak Mis – Yurt camp

    Early wake-up for shooting pictures of sunrise over the sea. Breakfast in the Yurt camp. After breakfast, drive towards the Keinchiyak Mis, where located the previous Soviet Military Base Camp. On the way, stop at Nomads cemetery, for shooting wonderful pictures of Great Canyons and visit old Military Base. Take a swim (best place for swimming). Come back to the yurt camp. Have a rest for a while. Later you can visit Kurgancha kala, belongs to XIII c., an old caravanserai, hidden among the hills of the Ustyurt Plateau. Watch the Megaladon Shark teeth (2-3,5 million years old). Dinner and overnight in the yurt camp.

  • Day 03            Aral – Komsomolsk – Muynak (Mo’ynoq) – Mizdakhan – Gaur kala – Nukus

    After breakfast in the yurt camp, drive to the settlement “Komsomolsk” on the Ustyurt Plateau. There you can see the abandoned airport of the Gas Compression Station. It was used as an emergency landing place for the plane. There you can shoot pictures of camels and horses, as well you can taste the camel milk in the village. Continue driving via the bottom of the dried Aral Sea. Arrive in Muynak (Mo’ynoq) town. Visit the cemetery of Ships, local museum and watch the short documentary film about Muynak life in the past. Have a lunch at the Guest house. Drive back to Nukus. En route stop at “Mizdakhan” – the architectural complex of the XIV c, Halifa Erejep mausoleum (XII c), Nazlumhan suluw (XII-XIVcc), Shamun Nabi (XIX c). Gaur kala fortress (VI B.C.-IX A.D.). Arrive in Nukus at about 6 o’clock in the evening and transfer to hotel/airport/railway station. End of our service.

Best season to travel:

You can travel and enjoy this program all year around however one can feel a little bit uncomfortable to travel in the hottest period of summer (in July) and in winter when the weather is cold. But during these off-season periods, travellers can get special discounted rates for packages by request.

 

Level of difficulties and age limitation:

This is an easy level tour and there is no age limitation as far as a person has no walking distance problem. Because in some cities such as Khiva and Bukhara, transportation is limited and normally tourists walk around approximately from 3 to 5 km during an excursion.
