 Duration

  • Day 01            Arrival in Tashkent

    PM. Arrive in Tashkent. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 02            Tashkent – Samarkand (300 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Visit Applied Art Museum, Subway stations, Alisher Navoi Theatre Square & Chorsu. Drive to Samarkand. En route visit historical hills (where settled families used to live behind the walls protecting from nomadic tribes’ attacks) in Tashkent region. Upon arrival in Samarkand, transfer to hotel for an overnight.

  • Day 03            Samarkand

    Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion program in Samarkand: visit Afrosiyob Museum & hill, Observatory of Ulugbek, Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, Bibi-Khanum Mosque – the largest mosque in Central Asia, oriental bazaar Siyab, Konigil Silk-paper making center, Registan Square (Sherdor Madrassah, Tilla Kari Madrassah and Ulugbek Madrassah) & Guri-Emir mausoleum. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 04             Samarkand – Nurata (Yangikazgan) (250 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Nurata (200 km). Visit to Chashma Ayub, Namozgokh mosque (belongs to X c.), the ruins of Nur Fortress (founded by Alexander the Great in IV BC.). Drive to Yangikazgan (50 km.). En route, visit Kazakh village “Dungalak”. Dinner and overnight in Yurts.

  • Day 05             Yangikazgan – Aydarkul – Gijduvan – Bukhara (260 km)

    Breakfast in Yurt camp. After camel riding, drive to Aydarkul (12 km). Enjoy the real nature beauty of the Lake. Drive to Bukhara (250 km). En route, visit “Rabat Malik” caravansaray and “Sardoba” water reservoir from ancient Silk Road periods and stop in Gijduvan for visiting the mausoleum of Abdulkholik Gijduvani, Ulugbek’s medresah, Vabkent Minaret (XI c.) in Vabkent. Upon arrival in Bukhara, transfer to hotel and overnight.

  • Day 06             Bukhara

    Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion program in Bukhara: Samanids’ Mausoleum, Chashmai Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo-Khovuz mosque, Ark Fortress, Poi-Kalyon complex (Kalyan mosque and minaret, Miri Arab madrassa), Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan madrassas, Magoki Attori mosque, Trade Domes (Toki-Zargaron, Toki-Telpakifurushon and Toki-Sarrofon), Labi Khovuz complex. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 07             Bukhara – Khiva (460 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Khiva through Kizil-Kum Desert (460 km, 7-8 hours driving). En route, stop near Amudarya river for photo shooting. Upon arrival in Khiva, transfer to hotel for accommodation. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 08             Khiva

    Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion program of Khiva – “Ichan-Kala architectural ensemble” – “Museum under the open sky”: Ota-Darvaza (main gate), Madrassah of Mukhamad Amin-Khan, Kalta-Minor Minaret, Kunya-Ark complex, Madrassah of Mukhammad Rakhimkhan, Mausoleum of Said Alautdin, Juma Mosque and Minaret, Tosh-Hovli Palace (Harem), Karavan-Saray, Palvan-Darvaza Gate, Medrese of Abdulla-Khan, Minaret and Mosque of Khodja-Islam, Madrassah of Shergazi-Khan, Mausoleum of Pakhlavan Makhmud. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 09             Khiva – Toprak / Ayaz Kala (130 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to “Goybu” village and visit Ulli Khovli (ancient Turkmen settlement which belongs to A.D XII c.). Excursion to Toprak Kala (A.D I-VI c.) and Ayaz Kala (IV-II centuries BC.), the ruins of bloomed “Zoroastrian Period”. Overnight in Yurts.

  • Day 10            Ayaz Kala – Nukus (165 km)

    Breakfast in Yurt camp. Drive to Nukus. En route visit Chilpik Kala (which means “the Tower of Silence” from Turkic, and aged more than 2200 years). Upon arrival in Nukus, check-in at hotel. Visit famous Savitskiy museum. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 11            Nukus – Aktumsik (380 km)

    Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Ustyurt via Kungrat. En route visit Mizdakhan cemetery (AD XIV century) & Gaur-Kala (VI-IV centuries BC). Raise up to Plateau Ustyurt & visit Sudochie Lake, Light Tower (AD XVII century), deserted Urga settlement & fish factory. Picnic-lunch. Drive to the remotest village of Uzbekistan – “Qibla Ustyurt village” (where the real nomadic shepherd people of Uzbekistan live). Get acquainted with local people’s life, photo shooting local people & camels. Drink camel’s milk (called “shabat” in local language). Visit Nomadic tribes’ cemeteries of XIII centuries with different geometric figures on their grave stones. Overnight in Yurts on Aktumsik hill. Dinner & overnight.

  • Day 12            Aktumsik – Muynak – Nukus (380 km) – Tashkent (by plane)

    Breakfast in Yurt camp. Enjoy & photo shooting of sunrise over shrinking Aral Sea. Touch the salted water of Aral Sea & stroll around. Drive towards Nukus. En route visit Kurgancha Kala (Davlat Gerei) of AD XIII century. Raise up to Ustyurt. Visit the Great Canyon & continue driving to Muynak city (which used to specialize in fishing industry). Visit ships’ cemetery & Muynak Museum. Drive to Nukus airport for an evening flight to Tashkent. Upon arrival in Tashkent, transfer to hotel for an overnight.

  • Day 13            Departure from Tashkent

    Morning transfer to airport for departure flight to next destination. End of the tour.

Features of the tour:

It is a nice combination of classical tour with active one stressing on nomadic life features. A traveler can feel & touch the nomadic life by forgetting the modern civilization.

 

Best season to travel:

We strongly recommend to travel in spring and autumn months due to tour specification and weather conditions.

 

Level of difficulties and age limitation:

As of an average level difficulty, it is preferable for travelers whose age range is from 15 up to 60 years as far as walking ability allows up to 7 and more kilometers a day.

 

Remark:

A traveler should be psychologically ready for basic accommodations in Yurts (general shower & toilet outside) Also, a tourist should have an insect repellent/sting reliever and comfortable trekking shoes.
